Are you interested in pursuing a career as a marriage counselor or sex therapist?

Post-Masters Degree Training: this unique training opportunity involves a year long commitment during which time the intern will gain an exciting educational experience working with two other accomplished sex therapists/marriage counselors. The intern will be expected to see clients three days a week (12-16 clients a week). Typically the hours are evenings and weekends. Often there is some flexibility. Always ask us. The sessions will be video-taped, and weekly supervision is offered for one hour. The supervision may increase to two hours a week once an intern’s case load is at full capacity. Interns are also required to write one self-help tip per week for the website. Opportunities to develop public speaking skills through community presentations / workshops will be available.

Our ideal intern would be a licensed therapist (i.e. marriage and family therapist, social worker, psychologist or counselor) who would like to further their training by specializing in marriage counseling and / or sex therapy. The internship is also open to recent graduates who are pursuing licensure. This internship not only enable your to grow, but is an impressive addition to an aspiring counselor’s resume!

First Year and/or Second Year Graduate Student Counseling Internship this unique internship opportunity involves a year long commitment during which time the intern will gain an exciting educational experience working with other accomplished therapists. Typical issues that clients present with: anxiety, anger management, depression, eating disorders, grief, and sexual dysfunction. Treatment opportunities include individual and group therapy. Occasionally first year or second year graduate students will have the opportunity to do couples therapy.

The intern will be expected to see clients three days a week (10-15) clients a week, and work three evenings and / or one day on the weekend. The exact schedule is dependent upon staff availability to supervise. The sessions will be video-taped, and weekly supervision is offered for one hour. Additionally, Interns are expected to join the 2 hour weekly group supervision. Lastly Interns are required to write one self-help tip per week for the website. This internship not only enables you to grow, but is an impressive addition to an aspiring counselor’s resume!
