If I go to get treatment for binge eating, will I lose weight?

Individuals who are obese and binge eat do not necessarily lose weight by recovering from the binge eating disorder alone. However, resolving the binge eating helps people to maintain their weight as opposed to gaining more weight. In addition, if someone does have a goal of losing weight, then resolving issues with binge eating is an essential part of that process. For maintained weight loss to occur, the treatment will also likely need to address:

* Activity level
* Nutrition ( proper mix of proteins, carbs and fats)
* Portion sizes
